You have 4 divisions for Austin Healy and 3 awards in each of those. Jou have treated E-Types all the same and no division for Series 1 & 1 1/2, Series 2 and Series 3. You could have 1 award in each since there are definite difference. A series 1, 1 1/ 2 or 2 OTS OR FHC WILL ALWAYS GET THE PUBLIC VOTE. I have attended this event and seen this happen too many times. I don’t have the past records to confirm this so this is only my observation. The last reply to me concerning this stated that there are just not enough E-Types that attend this event. My last attendance there were 10 entries. I do not know the number for the most recent years. Who wants to attend and receive no recognition of their investments of TIME, WORK and $$$. Again, I will not be attending this event
I have been involved with the WWABFM as the Seattle Jaguar Club representative since 2020. Based on the last two years of attendance numbers, this year I requested several changes to the Jaguar classes to ensure our classes were competitive to all who enter. Those changes were approved by the board. No changes were made to the E Type Classes due to the low numbers of cars entered in these classes in the previous years.
There was no WWABFM in 2020 due to Covid restrictions. In 2021 we had seven E Types entered. Three Series 1 cars, two Series 2 cars and two Series 3 cars including my own car which is in driver condition. If you entered in 2021 you would had a 50% chance of winning a trophy. In 2022 we had a total of Two E Types entered, one Series 1 1/2 in Show Room condition and my driver quality Series 3. Had you entered you would have received a First or Second place trophy.
Why not make a class for each series of E Type for 2023? Lack of participation in the last two years. Each year the WWABFM makes three trophies for each class. Each year we have excess trophies due to lack of entries in individual classes. In 2021 we would have two excess trophies. Last year we would have had seven excess trophies. Trophies are unique in design each year so in two years we would have wasted time and money on nine unused trophies.
At the end of the 2023 WWABFM I will review all of the Jaguar entries and request additional changes if they are warranted.
If there are any questions or recommendations, please let me know..
Your site looks great but I did notice that the word “accomodation” appears to be spelled incorrectly. I saw a couple small issues like this. I thought you would like to know!
In case you wanted to fix it, in the past we’ve used services from a websites like HelloSpell.com to keep our site error-free.
It looks like you’ve misspelled the word “accomodation” on your website. I thought you would like to know :). Silly mistakes can ruin your site’s credibility. I’ve used a tool called SpellScan.com in the past to keep mistakes off of my website.
I have requested of the Committee every year since 2014, Why the ABFM does not have a discount at a local motel/hotel. We had one for previous ABFM, which Steve communicated, so the participants could get together, in the days and nights before and after the meet. I’ve not received an answer. We, who come year after year, not just to show off our family member cars but to renew our relationship with other participants who have become close friends. You left from your mission statement, the forming of relationships among participants, and joining of new British Car enthusiasts’ to join Exiting Car Clubs. Our annual trips are our only vacation days each year, the one to Vancouver, B.C. in May, and Bothell, Washington in July, usually including Ferry up through the San Juan Islands, and hitting every Antique shops and our favorite ethnic restaurant along the way. When we retire in a year or two, we plan to move to Costa Rica, and build a copy of our holiday Tree House on Orcas Island. The Double M, Morris dealer in Port Townsend, for car parts and friends or the Brooklands British Car and LeMay Car Museum. Which shows us new cars to love, not that 5 cars isn’t enough in any family!
So, the registration lists swap meet spots and cost, but the home page says there won’t be a swap meet this year. Which is it?? And, the contact us email thing doesn’t seem to work which is why I’m here.
Had a heck of a time. Different forms each long in for on line registration. Way different from mail in type. No regalia page. Asked question of plackard name? Then I couldn’t get into my PayPal. Went in from my normal way and it worked. Something wrong with you link or something. Don’t want to use snail mail so hoping you get this figured out.
Thank you for another excellent ABFM. I was happy we placed in our class 1st would have been nicer but 2nd was good too! I must comment on the awards this year, I do understand that you took a different tack in the event of a tie and i appreciate no solution is ideal and first registered seems fair. I wonder though why in the event of a tie for 1st or 2nd the tied car does not get the next award… For instance if the 1st place car got 11 votes and the second place cars had a tie at 5 votes each why not have the first registered get the second place and the later registered get 3rd? This year we had a situation in our class as above and the winner of 3rd was a car that got 3 votes… Seems unfair since the 2nd place tied car got more votes than the one that won 3rd place. Not sure if you agree and I do understand that no solution will make everyone happy just a though is all.
Thank You very much for your feedback regarding ABFM Portland Ron. I will give it some serious consideration this year. I am actually off to Portland and the Oregon coast this coming week and I certainly don’t mind making a second trip to Portland in August for the ABFM meet there. I can’t seem to stay away from WA and OR!
Thank You very much for your kind reply Granville.
I look forward to attending this event again, I am from the UK though living in Vancouver BC since 1993 and have been attending this event every year for as long as I can remember – including when it was still held at Bellevue Community College. I have also been attending ABFM Vancouver at Vanduesen Gardens ever since I moved here in 1993…and I often recognise the same cars at both events.
I would have loved to have attended the recent British Car Day at Exotics @ Redmond Town Center too but unfortunately, it was scheduled on the very same day as ABFM Vancouver.
Whilst we are at it, has anyone on this site also attended ABFM Portland? I have never as yet been, mainly due to the long drive from Vancouver BC (overnight accomodation would be essential and under consideration) but I am curious to ask if anyone has any feedback regarding the ABFM Portland event. From their web site, I gather it is quite a large event and held over three days at the Portland International Raceway, which co-incidentally I have driven around each December for their annual drive through Christmas lights display. Anyhow, any feedback on ABFM Portland would be greatly appreciated!
See you all at St Edwards State Park in July! You are a truly great bunch of folks in Washington state and I am always made to feel very welcome by you.
I attended the Portland ABFM last year and had a great time. Besides the normal on field show, they had three sessions where a couple of guys took groups of us around the field to talk about restorations and what to look for (buying, restoring, what to look for, etc., plus a rally through Portland and the Land Rover guys took people off road on the track infield. Looking forward to this years event.
Your website states that spectators can get into this event and park for free with a valid Wa State Discover Pass. Can you please confirm this is I fact the case and that the folks directing spectator cars are aware of this, as i have had problems with this in the past.
People who are in possession of, and visually display, a valid WA State Discover Pass will be given access to use the park facilities, per the terms of the pass. If used on the day of the All British Field Meet event, for the access to use the park facilities, individuals will be allowed to benefit from the event with no parking charges.

I thought that the event was too long. I would like the voting stop at 1pm and awards given out at 2.
A four hour event is long enough.

Feel free to call me 360-661-2375 if you need to.
The registration demo page does not list my class, so I am unable to complete the registration process. Please add a class for Metropolitans
Hi Pam,
The registration page now has the Nash Metropolitan listed. Please check it out and let me know if it’s what you expected.
Thanks,
Ron
Hey Pam,
No cars showed up for the new class of MT-01 this year ( 2018 )

Nice and clean white one! Good job Kay.

How early can spectators drive into the park on Saturday? I did look at the schedule of events but did not see any mention of thls. Thank You.
Any risk that this event might end up being cancelled due to State Parks being closed as a result of industrial action that has been on the news?

Can you place a series of accepted payments types icons on the register page, and include paypal as a payment choice?
